A boutique office that feels like a studio house — a majlis at the door, one long table for the team, and a plan designed to grow.
The concept brief
Design narrative
A concept for a 420 m² boutique office for a growing firm in Riyadh.
A small firm's office is also its reception room, its meeting place and its first impression. This concept begins with hospitality: the entrance opens into a majlis-style lounge with low upholstered seating, a woven wool rug and a coffee station, where guests are welcomed before any business is discussed. Glazed meeting rooms sit just beyond it, framed in walnut, so visitors see the working studio without walking through it.
The studio itself is organised around one long walnut table rather than rows of desks, so founders and team work side by side and the table doubles as a place for reviews and shared lunches. A full-height joinery wall runs the length of the room, holding storage, a reference library and display shelves. Partitions are demountable and power runs in a raised floor, so the office can take on new desks and rooms as the firm grows without a full refit.
