The Quiet Floor Workplace
A headquarters floor planned as a gradient of sound — lively by the lifts, quieter with every step towards a library at the far end.

Design narrative
A concept for a 1,600 m² headquarters floor in a New Cairo business district.
Open offices struggle when every activity shares the same acoustic. This concept zones the floor by noise rather than by department. Reception, a café pantry and the meeting rooms cluster around the lift core, where movement and conversation are expected. Beyond them, team desks line the glazed perimeter in daylight, and at the far end of the floor a library of focus seats, enclosed booths and quiet rooms offers the calm that concentrated work needs.
Materials do the acoustic work quietly. A continuous oak-slat ceiling over acoustic fleece softens the whole floor, wool carpet replaces hard flooring beyond the reception, and felt-lined joinery booths double as storage walls between zones. The reception desk is a single block of honed travertine with bronze details, setting a composed tone at the door. Lighting follows the same gradient — brighter and warmer by the core, softer and more controlled towards the library.
