The Oasis Dive Resort in Marsa Alam commissioned NoVi for the interior design of 900 m² of hospitality space. The design direction was defined as contemporary and oasis-inspired: an interior that takes its cue from the idea of the oasis, expressed in a present-day language rather than as a literal or historical theme.
A dive resort serves guests whose days are spent in the sea and the sun; the interiors are where they come back to cool down, gather and rest. Hospitality spaces in a hot climate have to feel shaded and calm, stand up to constant everyday use by guests fresh from the water, and give a clear sense of place without falling into pastiche.
The oasis offers a ready language for that brief: shade, water, the palm and the relief of a cool interior after the heat outside. Reading it in a contemporary way means using those ideas to shape atmosphere, proportion and material mood rather than decoration. NoVi's interior design team developed the 900 m² within this direction, so that the spaces read as one consistent and restful retreat.
